« on: January 17, 2009, 01:24:10 AM »
Now that the winter weather has all you guys indoors, what has ben going on?

Is there work on the #9 or passenger car work to talk about?

I understand it is now heaed in the Shop part of the building?

What kind or overhaul will the #10 need this winter?

Happy New Year to everyone!

Ted,  See the "Tree cutting to start 12/27/08" thread in the Work and Events section for news on the outside work.  The shop work over the last few weeks has been on the Model T railcar wheels and axles.  Mike Fox posted photos of the new tires on the "WW&F Railcar" thread in the Museum Discussion section.

Indoors??!!  What makes you think we're indoors?  -15 degrees this morning, we started in on cutting trees.  After lunch there was work on the shop extension.

Jason is working on the railcar, hoping to get that going for this spring.  #9 is got a lot of machining to do.

Guess all you downeast Mainers are used to that kind of weather. As for this old desert rat from Arizona its too cold for me outside up there. But wish I could be there to work in the shop as I used to be a machinest both in the navy and for several years after but quit as I didn't like just making parts I didn't care about. However the parts you guys need would interest me so would like to be there even in this cold winter weather keep up the great work both inside and out.

Here are some inside shots for you.

The wind was blowing in good shape today moving some of the snow around.

And someone must be trapping down the grade south of the station. Big tracks in the snow.
