B&SR Box Car 56 - Official Work Thread

<< < (36/38) > >>

Ted Miles:
Has a decision been made about what trucks will go under that car? I thought some freight trucks from under at passenger car were going under the #56; but I think that project has gone in another direction. I am looking forward to seeing the B&SR #56 out on the rails!  TM WW&F Member

Bob Holmes:
Stunning in Red!

Bill Reidy:
A few photos from today. the second day of Fall Work Weekend.

Marcel Levesque, center in white t-short, guides a roof walk plank through the planer after Brandan Barry (background) has fed the plank into the planer.

Jeff Schumaker paints No. 56's truss rods as Zack Wyllie looks on.

The boxcar received a second coat of red paint today.

Bill Reidy:
A couple of photos from yesterday, Saturday, November 11th.  Marcel has been busy completing the metalwork (grab bars) for the car.  His work yesterday focused on reproducing the shape of this grab bar, on one end of the car.  A matching grab bar was needed for the other end of the car.

Marcel found another available grab bar that was about the right length.  Here he's heating the bar to make the right bends.  Amazingly (at least to me), his first test fit matched the required bolt pattern.

Bill Reidy:
Marcel Levesque test fitting No. 56's brake rod today before final assembly.  Zack Wyllie looks on, as the invisible man (Dave Buczkowski) holds the ladder.
