Could I ask what the TOM switch project is about?  Is it to make a passing siding from the stub siding?  Is it a switch for a new siding?

All trains were nearly sold out (just a few spots on the 5p picnic dinner train.)

Perfect weather and lots of very happy passengers. Thanks to everyone who helped out to make it a successful day.

Hi Stephen, On the main line switch, Check for two or three switch ties that are two high. Ties need to be removed and cribs lowered. The high ties is what makes it hard to get the rails to set in place when moving the rails.till later, dwight

Labor on Labor Day -

* Shop - The air system (and the propane kiln) was set up to test the bull riveter that Gerry and Carlos spent the Summer restoring.  The riveter was used to set hot rivets in the ring for locomotive 10's new smokebox.  The test went well, photos are posted on FB.  Alan Downey ran a rehearsal with a cold rivet so everyone would be ready for hot rivets.

* Coach 9 - Eric and Ron spent much of the day installing the under sheathing on the frame, building pockets for the vacuum brake cylinder and equipment that go under the car.

* Gift shop - Some of the merchandise cabinet doors were removed and trimmed at the bottom so they will fit over the new safety mats behind the counter.  Merchandise was pulled for 3 more mail orders.

* Clean up - Trash from the weekend events was collected into 8 large bags, and refund bottles were organized for redemption.

* Depots - The locksets on the Sheepscot and Alna Center station doors were fixed so they are easier to lock/unlock.

* Trailer - Brian Strait worked on rust removal on the WW&F large equipment trailer.

* Publicity - The FB team edited photos of weekend events to be posted later this week.

* Maintenance - The Sheepscot platform lights were fixed.
