Just to be clear, I am not advocating the WWF membership take over. That assumption is incorrect and reads too much into my original post. I am just conveying Saundra's and Eric's desire for a "local" person(s) take over in order to preserve the "camp/lodge" atmosphere of the place. The last thing they want is another chain hotel. Now it is my understanding that one or more WWF members have or are still employed by the Lodge but I don't know if they would even have the interest to run the place. Also financial backing becomes a major sticking point. If a local takeover happens, it will require either a person with substantial liquid assets for purchase and transition, or a group of investors who shall designate a senior manager for the Lodge.
In any event, Saundra and Eric should be commended on their attempt to keep the Lodge local and in tune with the Mid-Coast culture. I for one shall continue to support them.
