This is a really good video. It clearly explains the evolution of the Garratt-type locomotives and describes their benefits and short-comings. The last years of their manufacture, after the patents expired and the original design was taken up by manufacturers other than Beyer-Peacock, are a hard lesson in economics. The videos accompanying the explanations are excellent. Good stuff all around. Thanks for posting this.
