I trudged through the snow today with my snowshoes. Hoping to make a solid path to walk on soon to start cutting again. I walked into the cut at Head tide. I did not check the snow depth. I am guessing in the neighborhood of 1 1/2 to 2 feet of snow on the ground. just trying to get some decent walking area. Depending on the weather, maybe we can get back up there for a day to finish cutting that area. But the snow will make it tough going.

On Saturday March 22 four membrs with two chain saws got started around 8:30AM. By 11AM the brush and downed trees were removed from the Head Tide cut between the two drainage ditches. You can now see that the right of way climbs upgrade (headed north) from the route 218 crossing to about the middle of the cut where the grade starts down grade to the Head Tide station site.  The three burn pile were out and the burn crew returned to Sheepscott around 4:30PM

The last 2 brush piles were burnt today at the North end of the yard, where the track to the car barn will eventually go. No burning next weekend as I suspect the rest of the snow will be gone and it will be very dry in places.

Mike,   Will the grading of the right of way or the parking lot be done this spring or next year.   Thanks, Fred Kuhns

I don't honestly know exactly when the grading will be done but it is next on the list. Where we cut will also carry the pipe to the new leach field. This has to be done because the present system won't handle the bathrooms we need so badly. And the high area we cut off will be used as fill over the stream.
And the last I heard, the first phase of the parking lot was going to be graded at the same time. I'm not sure if this has changed yet or not. We are making progress. It may only seem like baby steps now, but when it falls together and it happens, it will go quickly.
