This mean that the track from the tank switch to the platform got leveled and tamped?

I note the new red flag. Hard to miss that as you are traveling along.

Bill: yes indeed!

Bryce and James came in Friday morning and made the novice mistake of asking if there was anything to do...

Great to indoctrinate them.

See ya

Great that the young guns are learning new skills.  But Bill's question is still unanswered... did the tank to platform track get leveled and tamped?

The track got tamped today, Saturday.  Here's some proof:

Bryce on the tamper, working by the platform:

There was a crew dumping stone using the tipcar, using up the stone stored at Sheepscot (needed to get out of the way for plowing).  "2nd James" was coordinating this work:

That's great news on the tamping.  The track lean was getting impressive this summer.  Won't miss it a bit.  Good job by all involved.
What–me worry?

Nice to see the tip car in use. Was Fred's tractor used to fill it?

Just a reminder in case there's more tamping time....
The turntable lead is leaning to the west.

You've no idea.  Right by the platform the east end of the tie was completely out of the ballast, I could put my foot underneath.  The tip car delivered a load right there, then Fred delivered more while Bryce was tamping.

We found that only 1 tractor scoop-full didn't waste any over the edge of the fill,or not very much when using the tip car.
