Not to borrow trouble, but is it possible for this car to be used in firefighting service should, God forbid, a fire threaten or worse be caused by our railroad? Needs a pump and hose and nozzle. Would those be worth investing in, given that we don't own the car?

I saw photos of that tankcar being used with a pump & hose to water locomotives at Alna Center during the recent Grand Reunion event.

The pump was sitting on a flatcar coupled to the tankcar.  This is a Brendan Barry photo:

Russ, that had already beed discussed as potential uses with our tank. We have the hose already. And could come up with a nozzle also..

An earlier comment by Dispatcher Ed said that MNG was going to do it.

Yes, the plan was that MNG was responsible for lettering the tank car. I have no idea where that project stands - as there are no volunteer activities being conducted at Sheepscot at this time, in compliance with Maine's stay-at-home order. (The only exception is the construction occurring on the Car Barn Extension by a select crews of local residents.)
