Wayne,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have difficulty finding time to work on my HO-HOn3 home layout.  Too many other things beckon.  My real problem is that I would devote a lot more time to the WW&F but I can't seem to make all those states in-between Maine and Virginia shrink into nothingness.

You know what they say, if you want something done, ask a busy person.  Seriously, when I read about the contributions that others are making to our Museum I am in awe of how they also manage to have jobs, keep the home fires burning, and accomplish the so very many things that consume our lives these days.

Maybe we can get Elon Musk to test out his theories on a two-foot HyperLink Virginia to Alna.

I have a feeling that would get Maine DEP involved. ::)

Usually takes me about 4 1/2 hrs from Portsmouth RI to Alna depending on Boston traffic.

BTW, in the FWIW department I did a test this morning before I left for Nashville and was able to get one library in the back seat and one in the trunk. I couldn’t close the trunk lid though and will have to strap it down.  When I return and am doing the real load I will make an attempt to get them both in the back seat.

Graham from Tennessee offered to bring one up on his way north to the FWW but our schedules just couldn’t come together.

Nine more days till we all gather again for our fall railroad projects.

If Dante had been born in the 20th century, one of the levels of Hell would have been driving around Boston. ;D

Don't forget driving through Boston. It is more Hell than around.

When we head to Maine we usually go 495 to avoid Boston.   No one actually needs to drive Boston unless their life depends on it.   If we take the motorcycle we avoid highways

128 around Boston isn't bad when I usually drive it heading to Sheepscot -- around 4.30 in the morning.
What–me worry?

That would be the next level, Paul.

It's not too bad going up there at that time through Boston, either...at least on a Saturday...

A big, big thanks to Bill for constructing these libraries! While alone they might not seem like much, they will go a long way toward providing other activities on and along the railway for visitors who may not necessarily be railway enthusiasts to enjoy.

The one at Sheepscot will allow visitors to choose a book to read on the platform while they wait for the train or one to read on the train itself.

Meanwhile, the one at Alna Center will compliment the expanded picnic grove and pavilion there and give visitors something to pass the time between trains if they choose to extend there stay at Alna Center for a picnic, concert, etc.

Books can be freely exchanged between the stations and will eventually be able to be exchanged (by trail) with the one at Alna's town office.

We're looking forward to getting them painted, installed, and hopefully filled with books (childrens, railway, and everything in between) so our patrons can enjoy them next season!

Thanks for making the addition possible- I am beyond motivated by your enthusiasm and support on this project!

Steve, Hi How many books do you need?  I am sure Barb and I have a surplus after 50 some years of reading.  Hardcover preferred?  Have a number of Tom Clancy and Clive Cussler books probably softcover.  Also other topics.  Please advise.  Thank You Gary & Barb

Thanks Gary and Barb!

If it's not too much trouble and it would be a help, fiction non-fiction, children's- the kind of books to help pass the time while waiting for a train, or learning more about trains are ideal  ;D
