We have to use a compactor on the outer edge, however where getting rainy weather right now. Then we call the contractor and god knows when he will come. His work is backed up do to the wet Spring. I guess all in due time.

Paul,

For any photos I can find, the "outrigger braces" were never boxed in the original installation.

Being small members relative to the main truss, I expect they are somewhat consumable in nature, and it's probably more economical to just replace the deteriorated member itself than fuss around with sheathing.

I asked a couple months ago. The bridge engineer suggested the brace 'box-ins' should be done.  ??

Looking forward to seeing and working with everyone again in a few weeks for this October's work weekend.  Wish I could make it more often but Texas is a long ways away.

I assume there will be some folks staying at the Wiscasset Motor Lodge.  Anyone willing to give me a ride to the museum so I can leave the rent car with the wife?  I'll be there Sat - Sun - Mon.
