I was going to suggest all have well-fitted hats, but Jason is not wearing one, and James ... well, never mind.

Hint:  Stewart has the answer on our Facebook page.

There are 5 members who have volunteered 10,000 hours or more and Saturday was the first time we have gotten all of them together for a photo.  No other volunteer photos were taken. As mentioned, the news teams (Bill R., FB folks, etc.) want to get photos of the various groups of members and hope to do so at the FWW.

The picture was taken moments before the heavens opened up on us.

A few little tidbits that were completed prior to and during the annual picnic, Eric and a few others got the various broken truss rods on combine 14 repaired so it could be put into service.

Jeff and I cut, drilled and installed the slide plates on the new garage loading track stub switch.  There is still some minor adjustment needed to two ties for someone with a chain saw.

Start and Jeff found the parts cut three years ago to make more skates.  Bryce and Allan welded them up and Jeff and I painted them yellow.  The five new ones have been placed in the North East end of the car barn with the new trigs.  Jason is going to monitor feed back on this batch before we make more.

A couple of minor things were done to 52 to provide a storage place for the token and to fix a couple of minor things on the brakes on 130.

I did note that by the end of the day Sunday Brandon had cleaned up more of the scrap laying around, the SCONY tank had been removed from it's flat car and the rotted car deck removed.  I did note that all four cross truss rods for the bolsters had previously cut and scab welded.

Also - both sides of SR&RL combine 14 had a major repaint on Friday.

The work was completed for the 4 car train that ran Saturday morning, first time #9 has pulled the combine since 1924.

Plus, the Rangely was hand washed by Wes Friday and thoroughly rinsed Saturday.

Yes.  Both train crews also got thoroughly rinsed Saturday.

Some of the Edaville authorities at the picnic said that the last time the Rangeley was in a heavy rain storm (on a railroad, not sure about trailer time in 1992) was in the early 1960s.  The good news is that Wes and Catherine said that the car stayed dry inside, no leaks.

Brendan and I cleaned up in front of the three car garage this morning, I wonder how long it will stay that way?

Work done on Saturday Aug 17.

This is only a partial report, since I was busy on engine duty all day.
* B&SR Flatcar 14 - was brought into the shop during the week.  The car was flipped upside-down, then people start to disassemble.
* Mountain Extension - Mike did some digging, but I didn't ask him about it.
