Come off of the turntable lead...
Quote from: Dave Crow on April 02, 2020, 01:12:54 PMCome off of the turntable lead...If you mean the "Roundhouse Lead"; that is the plan, if it possible to do. The issue is that the switch needs to be placed where the Roundhouse Lead makes an S curve; and we need to keep vehicular access to the water tank/section house. At any rate, this is just an idea that has been batted about; no decision has been made.
In looking at the two pictures above and what is called on FB as the bump out or museum area as opposed to the rolling stock display area I happened to notice that the north end of the car barn extension museum area had been closed off. I thought the plan was to extend this museum area further to the north until it was stopped to keep from impinging on the north yard turn table track.Or, is this a temporary stopping point until projects and funding catch up?Could I be wrong? Not so early in the year....
There will be a large barn door in the middle bay. The basic look of the building facade is to resemble a typical New England Barn. This will provide the main public access to the exhibits contained within the structure.
What will happen on the bumpout's south end? A walk-in door?
