The rest of the rail was put down before lunch time today. The rail still needs to be spiked, lined, and ballasted.

Really missed being there to help you guys this week. Fantastic progress.
On the other hand, I just spent the day on the White Pass & Yukon. Fair tradeoff, I guess

Nice work.
But is there a reason not to cut the rail ends even with the last tie to match the rails on an arriving trailer?

The rails were left long to allow for some variation after lining it. Once the track is lined the rails will be cut to their final length.

Did we use the leftover 33lb/yd rail or is that all gone now?

I wont say the size as it would be wrong, however this is the rail that was used for part of the north yard project, and appears to be the same size as the rail in our lower yard.

33# rail. It’s great stuff- little wear, still very ductile. I’m going to be sad when it’s gone. All of our home made switch frogs and points are made with it. We’ll retain some for replacement before it’s totally gone. There’s some left in the pile at the top of Davis Grade.

Jason, you can count on someone finding more somewhere. It's just going to take more time and money.
