Mike,  great job so far and I know there is still a lot to do.  Hope you're planning Phase II for SWW (siding trim, floor, etc.)  I hope the BOD will give thought to Phase III, (electric, enclosed end for stage & storage) plus maybe a BBQ pit  ::)

Don't think enclosing one end is best idea for the building and the light.  Having electric,  Having a fire pit out front, having a BBQ pit, investing in removable sides that are clear and can be rolled up, and installing a lot of LED lights either strung across or wrapped around the framing and you have one heck of a place for events or weddings.  While I would enclose an end for a stage you could put some risers in on one end.

Joseph. Only the Gables will be sheathed, to 4 inches below the end framework. From roofline to the ground will be open on the ends of the pavilion.

Friday progress. We have had the annual slow down at my work, which gives me a 4 day work week. So today, due to the impending storm for Saturday, Brian W., Fred, and myself worked on the Pavilion, with Zack showing up at lunch.

By lunch, we had made the pieces of steel for the roof, and had a few boards on the end.

After lunch, we really got after it.

3:30...

You may notice that the boards are already weathered. Most of these are left over from when we built the car barn years ago, and were getting to the point where they would start rotting soon. They did not get used on the Car Barn Extension because they wanted all uniform boards and if they ran out of these, there was no easy way to match them. These were cut with a circular saw, and where we get our lumber now uses a band saw mill. We don't have many left over now, and may use them on the south side..

Nifty idea given the price of wood these days and excellent recycling at that. Well done.

That's a great look for the trim on the pavilion. It looks quite rustic, yet artistic. I like it!

I like the look also;  Would recommend that the boards get a preservative coating like wood decks instead of paint.  Rust-Oleum Zinsser clear preservative is rated the best.  Interior trusses should get it too.  Would be a good SWW project.

We got started this morning moving staging, then got placed into crossing de-icing detail. I returned at lunch, with others helping with the brush cutting at Albees Field. Meanwhile, I headed up to use the staging while it was dry. Help filtered in, and had this done in short order.

Quit at 2:30 for the board meeting.

Looking fantastic!  It should be a great spot for concerts, wedding receptions, family reunions, etc. during mild weather months.

Fred and I went and spoke with the Amish Sawyer yesterday. He will not be able to get us anything until next month. So we are using up everything we have that is rough on at least one side. I am actively looking for more of the weathered pine to finish the building..
