Some more photos of a busy day at Alna Center.
We saw several full (sold-out under pandemic socially-distanced guidelines) trains pass by between Sheepscot and Top of Mountain for Pumpkin Pickin' at SeaLyon Farm. Based on our guests expressions seen on the passing trains, it looks like all had a good time. Here's the 11 a.m. train from Sheepscot, passing by Alna Center at 11.14 a.m. It appears No. 9's consist was WW&F flatcar No. 118, Maine Locomotive & Machine Works open excursion car No. 130, WW&F coach No. 8 and WW&F caboose No. 320.
Here's a view from the Alna Center depot toward the pavilion, with Clancy holding a truss in position.
Mike Fox operates Clancy to lift the last truss into position. The last truss was set around 11.24 a.m.
After lunch, the 2x10" edging and 2x4" strapping was completed. This 1.26 p.m. photo shows the process, with (left-to-right) Zack Wyllie cutting the lumber, James Patten on the staging handing the cut lumber up to the rafters crew, and Brian Whitney and Mike Fox securing the strapping on the trusses on the north side of the pavilion.
Brian and Mike finished up securing the strapping on the north side of the trusses by 1.50 p.m.
The same process was used for the strapping on the south side of the pavilion. Here Mike is finishing up securing the strapping around 3 p.m.
