THANK YOU EMERY RAIL HERITAGE TRUST
« on: February 26, 2019, 01:44:15 PM »
Today, the Emery Rail Heritage Trust (http://emeryrailheritagetrust.com/) announced that the WW&F is receiving a $8000 grant to be used towards the completion of the Mountain Extension. This is the third (and largest) formal award the ERHT has bestowed on the WW&F towards our continued expansion of mainline trackage over the last five years.

We are grateful for this grant, and appreciative for all that they do to help fund the preservation of our rail heritage.

Announcement at:

Thanks, John. We've had a good round of successes in grants over the last year or so, mostly due to what we ALL do.

This includes:
- Getting projects done, and in a reasonable time frame.
- Involvement of many volunteers in accomplishing these goals.
- Engaging youth and young-adult volunteers.
- An active membership base who willingly and generously supports the efforts.
- Open and frequent communication with our members and benefactors.
- Embarking in exciting and unusual projects (bridge, mountain extension, turntable) that are unique and go beyond "let's get ol' 97 running."

So, thanks are due to us all. Even thanks to the person lurking and reading this forum post who thinks what we do is cool and helps to spread the word about what we are doing. Yeah, you - JOIN US!

With all that said Ed, it takes some effort to seek out these grants. Thank you for what you and those you call on for help have done. Without it, well, we would be without it.

Thanks, Ed, for this latest success in grant development.  I know a bunch of folks have provided great support, but you've led the way!

And Thank You to the John H. Emery Rail Heritage Trust.  They are providing tremendous support to the rail preservation community, as seen in the 29 grants they announced today.
What–me worry?

I'm familiar with only a few organizations that have provided grant support to WW&F.  This is great news and my appreciation goes not only to the grantee but those WW&F volunteers involved in grant solicitation. Without fancy titles, WW&F has the benefit of an extraordinary range of talents. I tip my striped hat to all of you.

Congrats Ed ! Your work behind the scene is one of those that nobody can take pictures to upload on fb. But without the tremendous amount of work done backstage in the association there would not be any picture to upload.

Mon Ami;
Truer words about the WW&F have not been written. If only photos could illustrate all that goes on behind the scenes to propel our Museum forward. it's like an iceberg, you only see the tip. We kind of like it that way!
