Testing Notifications
« on: December 12, 2018, 03:05:32 PM »
I don’t seem to be getting e-mail notifications.
Could somebody reply to this to test if it is working?

No problems in PA!  Maybe you've entered the dreaded "dead zone".   :o

Perhaps it's a setting within the forum software that allows you to receive or not the notifications.  Maybe Ed can tell us how to turn it on or off...

Could it be that Keith is not receiving notifications directed to particular volunteers with specific skills, rather than just the usual stuff on the forum? I don't know if that happens, but it's just a thought.

Keith's issue seems to be something on his end. We checked all his settings, even tried an alternate email address.

I receive e-mail notifications from other forums no problem.
And using two different e-mail addresses I have tried getting e-mails through Spectrum and via Outlook.....to no avail. And I have used both an i-pad (Apple) and and HP laptop (Windows) so I don’t think it is on my end.

Keith, I also have an HP laptop and found some "quirks" with messages and Outlook.  (Am using Windows 10 pro)  I now use AOL for all my email through Verizon and all my issues have gone away.  Give that a try.

John, I predominately use an Apple I-Pad Pro using Apple Mail. So even if Windows were the issue, it shouldn’t affect the I-Pad. I am not using an Outlook e-mail address. I did try switching to the Outlook address with no luck there.
I suspect it is a case of the Gremlins that plague my life in general.

In other words it's just your "user friendly" software updates letting you know they're on the job.   :o
