Henschel loco

Does anyone know which Henschel loco this is and where?
Looks similar to the Boothbay engines.

Yes, I can see that.
But all Henschels at Bothbay didn't come directly from Germany I think?
And there are a number of similar locos in the US.

You are correct.  There is one at the Loon Mountain ski resort in New Hampshire (not sure of state).  A couple in Colorado in Leadville, I believe, and a another in Wisconsin at an Amusement park.

A similar Henschel was owned by an attorney named George Spohrer in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He had it on an island in the Susquehanna River in nearby Plains, where he had built a loop of track and a couple of passenger cars. The big Agnes flood in 1972 pretty much destroyed the place, and I don't know where the engine went. Mr. Spohrer died just a few years ago. I'll bet Bernie Perch knows something about this.

is this the engine you mean, Wayne? It's reportedly owned by the estate of Charles Umbly in Kane, PA, and before that by George Spohrer:

try asking on RYPN.org, Someone there might know or recognize the man in the photo. I will bet there are 30 to 50 of those in the US.

Not a car guy, but my guess is that photo was taken in the 50s.  I believe that one of the Boothbay Henchels came from New Jersey, which might fit the landscape.   Another Henschel came from Steam Village in NH.

If someone tells me the photo is from the 70s then it wouldn't be a Boothbay engine.

The Bucksgahuda and Western Railroad near St. Marys, PA has a 2-foot Henschel named "Otto".

That's the one, Phillip. I believe the man in Emporium would have been Dr. Charles Blumle. I knew him. He was a whistle and locomotive collector.

Obviously not easy.
My own guess is that it could be Hen 23033/1936 plinthed in Akron, OH.

A lot of details are the same. But no definitive identification.

By the way, the picture in my link is flipped, right hand driven car and left hand driven loco.

That black car is a 1960 Impala. (Chrome jet on the side molding.)
