No. It's still hanging out in the shop.

Work on the ML&M switch is scheduled to begin on Tuesday and Wednesday and complete it on Saturday. Saturday will hopefully also see the ballasting of the switch and speed restriction on Davis Grade.

I hope the crew doesn't run into any problems with the switch installation.

Confirming this weeks schedule.

Switch building Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Any crew who wants to come in Wednesday and Thursday and avoid today’s rain, that’s great.  Saturday we’ll be ballasting the switch, and probably helping Brian build the track connection.

Thanks,
Jason

Those little MOW cars are so handy it seems, along with the gantry car, that is being used for more heavy tasks than realized.  ;)

Was the switch started, or did the rain cancel work?  :(

Normally we don't let rain stop track work, however today was a severe exception. 34 degrees and pouring rain. Many places were sheet ice creating an extremely dangerous outdoor working environment. So we retreated to working on switch parts inside the shop, and Steve L and I unloaded the flat car of wood retreived this past weekend. Once we got that done our consensus was it was way to wet and cold to do anything else outside. By 4p.m. the rain had reduced to a light drizzle.

Anticipated work for Saturday Nov 17:

* Track: finishing up the switch into Maine Locomotive & Machine, and ballasting the switch, the south end of Cockeye Curve where we lifted the track, and anywhere else that's needed.  Also helping extending the siding.
* Machine shop
* Yard/parking lot clean up

Cut up One pick-up truck load of ties today with the help of Bob Longo, but unloaded Two loads as I found the truck full of wood from last Sat's work up the line. Hope to do Two truck loads tomorrow.

Any crew available tomorrow (Thursday) we’ll gladly accept.

Friday looks to be another rain event.

I suspect we will indeed be finishing the switch on Saturday, followed by ballasting it and Davis grade.

See ya

..followed by some rain, then sunny Saturday and 40 degrees.  I predict the snow will be mostly gone by the end of the day Saturday.

I think I’ll cover the 40’ of switch w tarps to keep the spit of snow off of it.  It won’t be perfect, but should improve starting working conditions on Saturday.
