Today the rail sorting crew started off with Al, Jay and I and we cleared out a hole to the rail pile, and sorted out bridge material. Then as we started to move rail Al had to take care of parking since we had closed off 70% of the parking lot. Then Bill arrived to help, and then later James and we discovered a 5 man crew is ideal for moving rail.
We need more help everyone. Todays crew was strictly moving rail, aside from a few getting called off here and there for small odds and ends. Next Saturday will be a wash because of the ice cream trains, so I hope we can move rail on Wednesday to stay ahead of things.
3 rails need to be cropped and drilled and I hope to do that Wednesday while a crew moves more rail. (Dependant on man power) Overall we set out 20 rails to be used for FWW, and 9 skips that need unbending, and 3 off the ground in front of the big pile of rail.
For those wondering, the big pile had over 12,300 feet of rail, or 6,150+ of track feet.
