I helped Zack burn One pile of wet brush. Most of the brush burnt was from trees cut that day. Tues. brush had to much snow on them.

Cutting again Wednesday!  And- 9 will run again!  We need to do a little brake testing, get in some additional training time- because it’ll be hot, we’ll include it’s operation with the cutting efforts.

Saturday was FABULOUS!  I loved seeing the great collective effort, and running 9 to support it gave us a truly unique WW&F flavor.

We’ll see about doing it again in February- steam for work parties on both a weekday and a weekend.  We’re thinking of a public event also.

First things first:  if you can join us on Wednesday, please do.  The combined efforts of last Tuesday and Saturday have made it so one additional day will complete this task for this year, with trees cleared all the way to location 9 (except for the area awaiting a permit).

Let us know if you can make it!  A 6 person cutting crew would do wonders!

Thanks,
Jason

I'm in.
Don't ask me. I only cut the grass. Oops, I don't even do that anymore.

Prob 930 again.

Bring lunch- we’d like to stay up there, however we can run a return trip at noon if some folks need to leave.

Thanks!
Jason

Anticipated work for the weekend of Jan 27:

* Amherst Railway Society Train Show: At the "Big E" in West Springfield, MA.  Setup begins on Friday, crowds of thousands on Saturday and Sunday, breakdown Sunday evening after 5.  We'll be represented there, and many of our members and volunteers will be there.  We're in the Young Building near the "Heroes and Legends Cafe" - drop by and say hi, or help out for a bit.

Back at Sheepscot, those of us that are left will be:
* Boxcar 67
* Trout Brook area tree clearing
Fred is making lunch.

Correction James.  The museum tables are in the Young building not the Mallory building.

Work done on Saturday Jan 27:

* Springfield Show: No idea about how many attended or who of our crew were there, but sales were better this year than last year by several hundred.
* Trout Brook area trees: We cleared several trees and burned the branches.  See the Trout Brook thread in the work projects for pictures.
* Boxcar 67: Zack put in two grabirons on the north end.
* #10 boiler: Jason and Alan worked on flanging, and then discussed a new die.
* Fred's birthday: We celebrated Fred's birthday today with a cake:

Happy Birthday, Fred!
We want...A SHRUBBERY!  One that looks nice, and not too expensive.

Kudos to Emily. Great job!  I'm not quite sure if she enjoys or endures her father's passion

Whatever, I look for more really great stuff to come from her...
