She even captured Bob Longo in the cab (unless she was there on the 16th in which case she completely mis-represented me)  ;)

I was thinking more along the lines of the poster for the 2018 event.

I think childhood imagination took over, and hooray for her.

Wayne, I agree along with the calendar. On the advertising side of the house, I would suggest that each VC we have a children's poster competition with the winner being named the "Grand Elf" for the following year, (along with a cab ride).  Would suggest we make up a bunch of posters to send to local schools and put up in grocery stores, etc.

How old is the artist in question? She is very talented. I agree with Wayne. It should somehow be part of the advertising for next season.

I thinking that this should actually be made into a Christmas card to sell in the gift shop.  What a neat thrill for her and would also serve as an example to other kids to dare to try.

Agree with poster and Christmas card, and anything else that makes sense (without overdoing it).

Steve P:  what do you think.

Also, be sure to get her permission for any and all uses!!

Just my opinion, but I think selling it may be a little over kill. However, I definately like the idea of using it as advertisement, etc. (With permission of course) When I first saw this picture appear on facebook, my first reaction was to how well the event was represented. I mean look at the sheer detail they put into it. From the ribbon and wreath on #9, to the warming fire, to feeding the horses. They made sure to capture the activities at Alna Center very well.

I love the idea of using the drawing for our ad. Maybe we could develop it into a contest of sorts, like the Common Ground Fair does with their artwork, encouraging new participants and new art each year.
I think the Christmas card may be a bit much- after all it was a Christmas card to us. I think it was personal and special, but if the artist agreed, or would be willing to create somethig else for us because we liked this so much, I don't think it would be bad.

This pic is a gem, has a 'Grandma Moses' look to it, deserves further publicity.  ;)
