I have been following this development since it was announced. It ranks up there with the Como project to my way of thinking. The photos showing up on-line have been wonderful!

Note, this is in Colorado, CO, not California, which is CA.

Actually, Laws is in CA, while Como is in CO.

Take a look at www.ngdiscussion.net for lots of photos of events at both places.

Actually, it is in Laws California.
Causing confusion is that the railroad was once called the Carson and Colorado - but later was absorbed by the Southern Pacific.

Wiki page for more historic information:

Everyone is raving about the restoration of one of the surviving SP locomotives; specifically its first visit "home" to Laws, California, where there is a small museum on the original ROW. Lots of photos and discussion on the Narrow Gauge Discussion Forum.

For those who might be interested, the November issue of Trains magazine includes an article with photos about the Southern Pacific's Owens Valley line.
