I need to figure out how to re-size my photos- I am posting them direct from my Google photos folder.
Thanks for posting those great photos!

I personally like large photos with great detail. I am willing to trade the inconvenience of scrolling in exchange for the fine detail available. :)  I think you will find that there is no way to display "resized" photos directly from a Google Photos folder. Here is your issue in a Google 'support' forum: https://support.google.com/photos/thread/83395543/is-there-a-way-to-resize-photos-in-google-photos?hl=en

Resizing photos either online or on your local system is certainly doable, of course.  But resizing will remove some of the detail. An alternative that achieves both goals is to use (free of charge)  https://postimages.org/ with their "Thumbnail for forums" option. Here is one of those oversize photos as an example:

As you can see, the default view is a thumbnail size image. Clicking the image once makes it bigger, but still within the screen size of most devices. Clicking the image a second time makes it full-size with all the original detail.

The latches are now complete. Again, since I only needed two I decided to make them from brass bar stock instead of making castings. It takes a lot of time to cut and mill all the features of the parts, but I guess its the  only way. Here is a photo of the two new parts, with the old part removed from coach 3.

There area couple features I could not reproduce, at least in any reasonable time, but since no one will ever again see these parts side by side I dont think it will be noticed.

Now this is really odd. I saw Ron's most recent photo on my iMac about 2 hours ago, but now it's not there!

I believe its a "Google permissions" issue, and one of the reasons I don't post public photos using Google.  However, I happened to have the photo Ron posted today still 'onscreen' on one of my PCs, and I just uploaded it to PostImages.org:

HOT WIRE ALERT:  Coach 9 gets Heat.

Coach 9 will be getting its own heating system in the near future.  The WW&F is now the proud owner of a #16 car heater courtesy of John Kokas catching a chance ad in Facebook Marketplace.  The unit was sitting in the former owner's basement since the 1950s and was claimed to have been owned previously by a shop employee of the Reading Railroad for over 30 years.  The unit is in remarkable condition and has been disassembled for transport to Maine.  Hopefully we will take the time to make molds/patterns of the various pieces in order to produce similar heaters for other cars in the fleet in the future.

Great find John.  Well Done!  I like the idea of producing similar heaters for the future fleet.  Perhaps one for the Potato Car?  Perhaps one for the tool car so our winter volunteers will have a portable warming hut?

Are the grates and the ashpan present?

You'll need to talk to Bernie, Alan and/or Harold about making patterns

Grates are all there and in good shape.  will need a new ashpan but it's a simple sheetmetal tray.  I made one in metal shop when I was in Jr. High that probably would fit it.  Will also need a new mid wrapper, the existing one is thin sheetmetal but will make a great template.  The important cast iron guts are in great condition.  I will let the powers to be decide who and when patterns and molds get done.
