The successful test is good news. I hope that the test occurred after the pole-righting, just in case pole-righting changed something. I'm very anxious that the phone works well during Eggspress. Unfortunately, a family obligation prevents my attendance.

The pole-righting was after the test.  I was doing the righting, before it the northward line was under stress from the leaning pole, afterward neither was under stress.  The stress was on the clip on the pole, not on the connection in the box.  So hopefully no negative effects to the line.

The only stress with the righting was climbing up the embankment after the pole was back up!
What–me worry?

Pole-righting was good, but can someone test transmission again to make sure all is in order for Easter Eggspress? Thanks!

Indeed! Been there-done that. :( I've contemplated removal of that whole installation. I do remember using it for its intended purpose, however. I think it was Jason, James, and I that ran out of gas with 51 and called for assistance.

A note on lunch this Saturday:

The Percival House will not be providing crew lunch, as everyone will be busy producing the event.

Nancy Weeks will have her hot dog wagon present; hot dogs will be available for sale at half price.

Otherwise, please bring your own lunch.

Thanks,
Jason

Two train consists, alternately hauled by 3 locomotives, moved 1093 people between 11:30 and 3:35.

The plan called for one train on the main at a time, so the egg crew had time to re charge the field between groups.

All reports are that Cindy Rhine did a fabulous job at the egg hunt.

Thank you to MNG for crewing and allowing the use of Monson locomotive 3.

Selling tickets from Prebles, and keeping the boarding line off the platform was a huge improvement.

More info later- those are the vital stats.

See ya

Those who attended last year said this year was a complete 360. Hundreds can't wait to come back for future events this summer.

Some nice adfitions/changes noticed by everyone was

1) Crowd management at both facilities was fantastic. And I mean FANTASTIC. It went like clock work.

2) Added signs in the trains and in the field were a big help for everyone.

3) This years paper tickets were excellent. Each one had a map of some sort, instructions, etc. Great idea and design.

Many many volunteers on hand to help fill many positions. Hundreds of compliments, new faces, and so many thank yous.

Cudos to all who organized the event, it was very well planned, organized, and most importantly executed.

Keith, I think that derives from 180 for Mom plus 180 for Dad.  ;D
