Mt Washington Cog Ry to open hotel
« on: December 02, 2016, 09:06:51 PM »
The Mt. Washington Cog Ry announced they have plans to build a hotel on the summit of Mt Washington by 2019 near the old Summit House site. The proposed hotel will have 35 rooms, and I suspect prices will be rather steep.

Since their track gauge is only 4'8" (1/2" shy of broad gauge) they are technically a narrow gauge (barely).  Therefore, we should be a little kind about their profiteering on a national landmark.  :D

The linked article indicated that the hotel is to be one mile below the summit of Mt. Washington at a spot known as Skyline Siding.

My last trip up, sky line siding was gone. Completely.
