Flatcar 118 passenger accommodations

A quick project was started last week to build flatcar 118 a new set of railings for Victorian Christmas. The project evolved into railings with built in benches and drop steps to the connecting cars for passenger access.

Though probably not necessary this year, and impossible to do in time anyway, it might be worth thinking about bending up some removable pipe "bows" to be fitted to the railings to allow tarps to be fastened overhead to provide some modicum of shelter in case of rain or snow.

Brilliant! Loading/unloading will be quick and easy. Further, the conductor can walk through the car collecting tickets or counting noses very easily.

From what I've seen in the photos and videos of Victorian Christmas, the new railings/benches for 118 worked out well. Any thoughts of building a similar set of railings and seats for 126?

There's preliminary talk of putting these on 126 and continuing with the plan to build a PoCo flatcar canopy for 118.  Preliminary.  The cover and historical connection would be nice, though these are fabulous and so much better than what they replaced.

If these benches are removable and re-useable, I'd say it's a clever double-use of equipment.

Brendan designed each side of the car to have two sections, north end/south end with a split in the middle.  Each section of benches and railings should lift off as one unit when the car is needed for hauling stone, etc.
