Incidentally, #554 was out and about on Saturday - serving as the ice cream parlor at Alna Center for the Ice Cream Social.

(FYI... It would be great to get bay 3 of the barn ballasted and tamped while it is empty - assuming that it still is.)

Am I weird to think if 554 is acquired someday would love to see her preserved as Edaville 554? I just think it's a slap in the face of two men Atwood and Blount that nothing preserved that was built by the Edaville is labeled so. Atwood saved them and Blount kept it going after his death and Blount connections kept it running after Blounts death. Sorry to hijack a little. Love the work on the box car.

We don't own the caboose so how it should be restored is purely the owner's decision. We're just happy to borrow it for special events.

That said, we've been joking that we should do an Edaville Day at the WW&F. And I agree that the Atwood/Blount efforts should probably be memorialized in an appropriate manner.

What I commented on was an earlier post on the boxcar. I agree steamtown has no mention of Blount. Now that you have a whole train that would be awesome.

I would love to see an Edaville day on the WW&F, though you would have to borrow a engine from Edaville or MNG since 10 is out of commission

The Bridgton box car should and will be kept as a Bridgton car because that is what it was originally. As far as having cars say Edaville, many of us tell people that coach 8 and 103 were built at Edaville and there are references to the cars being Edaville.

I was introduced to 2-foot railroading at Edaville almost 60 years ago, so I have an interest in seeing credit given to those who created and operated the line.  Ellis Atwood was one of the few interested that had the means to build his own railroad at the time when so much equipment was available.  (Nelson Blount continued this and more, with Steamtown, where I was introduced to standard gauge steam.)
