How did we make out with all that rain so far?  My sister up in Hope said they had 6 inches there and there is a "moat" around her garage, like alongside the car barn.  (They're also on clay similar to around the WW&F at Sheepscot.)
At least the Hurricane seems to be going out to sea.  Hopefully all this will wring all the dampness out the atmosphere and give us a dry Fall Work Weekend.

The worst damage was to the sand blasting tent which was tossed over and some of the support pieces were bent. About 7" of rain fell in Alna.  Standing water in and next to the car shed with much mud around the car shed and the north yard area.  It should dry out by next weekend if the TS misses us.

Will puddles and mud block work this weekend? Hope not.
I'm sure Mike now knows exactly how to deal with car barn area drainage.

Latest weather guess says TS Joaquin will veer NE off your coast, with shore surge/flooding/windiness.

Ten or twelve years ago we had a deluge of a weekend.  It didn't stop us, although we did have to change plans.  We ended up doing a lot of work indoors one or two days.  In short, mere puddles and mud won't stop us.

I remember that.  Some of our younger volunteers were trying to catch fish as the fire pond overflowed over Cross Road.  Route 218 from Wiscasset and Cross Road were about the only roads open to the museum.

At least rain or shine track can still be built this fall since there is a new roof over where the track will be built.

Will we install gutters on car barn to at least control where water goes.  Tie down spouts to drain line.

I was up at the Strasburg RR in September 2004 when Hurricane Ivan joined me. What did it do to the WW&F?
