Time Reset
« on: October 19, 2014, 12:29:37 PM »
Hi All,

During the forum/web outage of 10/18/2014 it appears that something happened to the time settings on all accounts. If you look at the date/time in the upper right hand corner of the forum window, you may notice that it is not correct.

If you want to correct this, click on the "Profile" link near the top of the window (in Home | Help | Search | Profile | My Messages | Chat | Logout)

Then on the left side, under Modify Profile, click Look and Layout Preferences.

Finally set the Time Offset. For most of us using Eastern Time, change it from 0 to -4. Or click (auto detect).

Thanks,

-Ed

If you fixed yours, Ed, it didn't stay fixed.

I find that the clock is 4 hours fast (GMT?) before I log in, but once I have logged in it has stayed correct.

Suffice to say, I think we have finally achieved time travel on the WW&F.

Yes, but we got the sign wrong. We wanted to go 100 years back, not 4 hours forward. We'll have to look under the hood of our time machine and see if we can make some adjustments. The steam locomotives and the magneto phone system will work fine, but Jason's iPhone won't.  ;D

The thing to check is the time in the upper right corner of every forum page. If it gives the correct time when you are logged in, then you are all set. If it shows the incorrect time, then you can: ignore it, log in and see if it changes, or (once logged in) set the time offset as described above.

And Stephen, time travel has been possible at the WW&F for many years. This is why we keep coming back.

Amen to that Ed!
