Zack got the last of the bituthene on yesterday and says as soon as his metal guy can, he will get to it. But it is waterproof, should it need to be out.

Was the roof covered with tar paper or tin originally? The early pictures it is hard to tell, some places look like tar paper and the ends look like tin.

One truck will be removed and have brake rigging hooked up. The work on the truck will take place sometime this summer or fall while we are waiting for the roofer.

The rest of the brakes on the box car will be mounted after the tin roof is installed.

Wood roof walks will be installed.

A few handholds need mounting on top of the box car. 

The brake wheel with it's long shaft can than be mounted.

67 still need the safety chains installed on each end.

Linkage between cut levers and couplet's need to be installed

 It is good news that the metal roof will finally be installed. With the roof on, the brakes can be added along with brake staff, roof walk, and safety chains. The finishing touches sometimes take longer than one would hope.  Hats off to the BOD for seeing the project to completion.   Thanks Fred Kuhns

Eventually all cars will be vacuum brake equipped.  There are no specific plans for 67 right now.  We are focusing on the most frequently used cars first- and evening that comes after system testing and refinement, which is what we are doing now.

 In the last several weeks there was news of the metal roofing being finished and the car return to storage. What is the time frame to complete the brakes and safety chains?       Thanks Fred L. Kuhns
