A great impression
« on: June 16, 2015, 04:00:39 PM »
Today I spoke with Nick Zjmijewski of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. He escorted the tour group from the museum which stopped at the WW&F last week. He said the patrons of the tour rated the WW&F the high point of their trip, which took in a number of New England rail museums. He said the folks especially appreciated that the train crew were dressed in appropriate period clothing, as well as the opportunity they had to ride in coach 3 and see the Model T railcar. He also mentioned that a representative of the American Automobile Association was on the trip and was highly impressed with the entire place and would recommend it to other AAA bus tours traveling to Maine. The women on the trip also appreciated the high quality restrooms.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the report, nice to know they had a good time on a such a cool and cloudy day.

BTW - When I first saw the thread line I thought it read "Great Depression".  We do spend a lot of time at Sheepscot working in the early 1930's time frame so it's only natural ...

I was impressed with the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania when my son and I visited in 2004. I was really impressed with Hurricane Ivan that struck the state that evening and halted operations of the East Broadtop the next day. The only thing I could see above the flood was the George Bush for President signs in what I had been told was a blue state.
