Earlier today, a crew from the History Channel stopped by to film a segment on the WW&F. Tony Bennett and Chris “Codfish” Codwell recently answered an ad in Uncle Henry’s for a pile of “train parts”. It turns out that the cast of “Down East Dickering” had found the bell, whistle, and other assorted hardware salvaged from WW&F #8 in a barn in Whitefield.
However, they got more than they bahgained for.
Fortunately for us, our own dickerers, Fred and Zach were on hand to handle the negotiations. When they started, Tony and Codfish had their sights set on a trade for the Terraloader tractor at Alna Center. Apparently, Tony and Codfish had a client that needed a front end loader for pushing around some broken down cars in his front lawn. However, Fred and Zach handled everything, and Tony and Codfish settled for an even trade for a bucket of used nails and an empty burlap sack.
Fred and Zach are set to star in next season of “Down East Dickering.” Meanwhile, the bell, whistle, and related hardware has been inspected by Jason, and safely stored in “Alice’s Closet.”
