Yes, we haven't gotten to removing any of the actual mill pieces yet.  Just all the stuff the owner collected over his life.  When we do remove the mill and such, we'll need our trailer and probably a bunch of the new chain we just got to tie it all down.

That is why the chain was left there the first trip. So it could be used to tie down the bigger pieces...

Any chance the structure itself can be salvaged, or is it "too modern?" Or too far gone?

No Wayne. There may be some salvagable lumber on the outside, but not enough to make it worth while. What I suggested was the floor. It is well worn THICK flooring. Save what we can, and put in the new building for the authentic look.

Kubota work also. I have some plumbing to do. I was hoping to have the mower in operation before SWW, but that is not going to happen. Maybe during work weekend if there is no need for it.

Work done on Saturday, April 18th -

* Track - Rick, Dana and crew worked on the south ToM switch, installing guard rails.  Both flatcars were set up to haul stone next week.

* R-O-W - Downed tree limbs were cleaned up along the track from Sheepscot to AC.

* Yard - Locomotive firewood was stacked.

* Shop - Work on #10's tender truck.  Steve P. and Ed spent some time cleaning up to be ready for the Work Weekend.

* Car Storage Buiding - Fred cut strips of plywood and made a boardwalk to the s/e corner of the frame.  More lumber was ordered for bracing.

* Garage - The front and east end were painted.  More work was done sorting items from the mill building.

* Restroom building - Staging was set up along the north wall for painting during the WW.

* Percival House - The basement was cleaned and set up for the dining room next weekend.

* Equipment - Dana changed the oil in Big Joe's compressor engine.

* Trains - We had passengers for all three trips.

* Kitchen - Cindy made a lunch of biscuits and gravy.

Garage looks mahhhvaluss!
Plywood walkways will help get car barn work going til ground dries out.
Question--what is the WW&F "standard" building color, if any? Yellow, green or gray?
Percival basement would make a swell "speakeasy" casino  ;)

WW&F Carson Peck era colors after 1907:

Depots - dark green lower and trim, light blue gray upper.  We use Ben Moore Evergreen and Yarmouth blue.

Shop complex - Medium yellow with brown trim.  Early W&Q was yellow with dark maroon trim which faded to tan.

Engine houses, water tank and section house buildings - Cedar or pine shingles were natural.  Shingles turned dark brown with age.

Modern non-railroad buildings - The restroom and garage are Stonehenge gray with white trim.

Has something to do with car shop hernias. (I wouldn't say this if it were anyone but you, Ira.)
