The concrete bases and frost posts are on site and the timber for the walls has been ordered.

Brendan,  Looking forward to how the concrete bases and frost post are installed. How are the two items secured together?    Thanks  Fred L. Kuhns

Gravity and friction.

We dig a deep hole, stick the base in it, then put the frost post in at its center.  The top of the base and the bottom of the post are smooth.  With lots of dirt packed in around them, they won't move.

Planting these begins next weekend (I hope) with intentions of the framework being contructed work weekend, or atleast started.

According to reports, layout was done last week. Not much Saturday due to the festival. We will give it heck this weekend though. Rain or shine.

Some of the timbers are cut at the sawmill and I saw a big pile of logs ready for a trip through the mill.

Sounds promising. What has happened this first weekend of October?

Fred mentioned that if we weren't able to get all the walls up for work weekend, that we should put a white sheet on the inside of the west wall and watch drive-in movies that way.  I said that we could park passenger cars on the roundhouse run-through track and people could watch them from there.  I think we have a money maker!

Here is Steve setting a pad. The string is centerline, so adjustments were made before placing the post on.
