By the way, the ROW from 218, south to Trout Brook was mowed last Saturday.

I understand that the people who gave us the easement ay Headtide would like to have the grass and bushes cut from Headtide to 218 so they might walk the ROW. I'm hoping in the next couple of weeks we can get 4 or 5 people to cut the grass. Last year Dwight and I cut a Four Ft. path the whole length in about Two hours. Please help us get it done.

I forgot to mention there has been about 600 Ft. of grass cut at the North end so far.

Work done Saturday June 28 (in the morning because I had to leave at noon):

* Kubota Extra: Mike, myself and Fred took the diesel and flatcar north, ran around at Alna Center, and pushed north to the end of track.  There we (Mike mostly) set up the ramp, then rolled the Kubota off.  Mike did a ceremonial first sod toss for my camera.  He continued working until the 11:00 train came, clearing out a bit of right of way.
* Mowing: Fred did some weed whacking at the north end on the track.  He and Dwight were there on Tuesday.
* #9: Marcel continued working on the cab roof, Wes was working on the jacket templates.

Stewart will need to fill in the afternoon.

Afternoon activites were much the same. 

*Grade - Mike did grade work and Fred cut more weeds/brush at EoT until the 3:30 train fetched them.  Mike found some interesting artifacts during the work, photos will be posted. 

* #9 - Wes finished putting the boiler jacket templates back on.  Marcel applied epoxy repair to the riser wood for the cabs roof hatch.

* House - Zack dismantled most of the back porch to make way for new grade work along the west side of the house.  The grade will be raised and tapered away from the house to keep water away from the foundation.

* Chow - Steve Z. made a wicked good lunch with blueberry deserts from Kathy Pendleton.

Then I look down and see this. What is it?

You may get a phone call from a guy who was at the museum today. He is from a museum associated with the Cleveland Union Terminal and was asked to make some railroad equipment models. He and his wife took some pictures, but he had troubles with his flash, so they may be back for more on Monday. I gave them our phone number, and told them that there would probably be people around.
