The Wiscasset & Quebec Railroad Company (the original 1854 company that in many places on the ROW is our landlord, and owns a much of the existing ROW) had a board meeting on Sunday. I heard through one of the participants some great news.
The W&Q had an opening on their board, word of this got around and someone who has made their fortune in the technology sector heard about it and asked to join. The W&Q accepted this person onto their board. This person (who for obvious reasons didn't want to be publicized quite yet) brings to the table professional business experience, so we are going to see the W&Q start to take a bigger role in their management of the ROW that they have, the research into the various portions of the ROW that they don't own, and hiring of employees to pull this off. This could mean the purchase of unowned ROW, and the repair of existing ROW in each of the towns that the WW&F ran through.
The others on the W&Q are pretty excited at this, and we should be too - since the Museum will be the ultimate beneficiaries of this work.
