Looking for a book
« on: September 25, 2012, 07:11:48 PM »
I saw it here before and I think it was in the gift shop at one time. What is the title of the book that covered thr Trench railways of WWI in France? It was first published in French then translated and re-published. I cannot find my info I had on that book. Thanks,
Rob

Using a search on "France" I came up with a posting on June 28, 2009 by Allan Fisher that said,

"I was able to procure 3 copies of Cenac's 400 page book on the 60 cm Railways of WW1 in France. They are available for $120 at the Museum Store.  This is a savings of $20 if you try to buy and have shipped from France. One heck of a lot of great photos and drawings. Book is in English & French."

On February 24th of this year, Mike Fox said,
"Looking for more "automated" track work ideas, I stumbled across this 9 minute video.

Unfortunately, as you know, it is not listed on the WW&F gift shop site, and http://www.cenac-france.com/en/index.php lists it as "Sales Stopped."

Even though it isn't on the WW&F site, Stewart Rhine may have a response, as his wife Cindy is associated with the gift shop and may know if there is one left.

Of possible interest (and perhaps the same book), go to amazon.com and look up

"The 60cm Military Railways of the WWI in France"

Prices range from $70 to $400!

EBay and abebooks.com are a couple of sources you might try.
