In Qatar, 4 new rail lines, 98 stations and 300kms...

Caught this in the local newspaper and then found it online. Several rail projects are underway in Qatar, some of which are scheduled for completion by the start of the 2022 World Cup. But the most amazing will be the line connecting Qatar to Bahrain which will include a 40km stretch across water!

Can you even imagine doing something like that here?

Maybe if we hadn't spent all that money in Iraq and now Afghanistan, . . . but we did.

I didn't realize Qatar was that green and hilly...surprising for a desert island.

Having lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years, I can guarantee that picture is not Qatar. It's a flat, sandy peninsula. I suspect the photo was taken in Europe or perhaps in China.

Yes, definitely not Qatar...not sure why that photo is part of the article, except that maybe to show the style of construction?
