Locomotives Headed to Boothbay
« on: March 08, 2012, 07:12:22 AM »
This morning on the way to work I was stunned to see a flatbed trailer with what appeared to be two (2) steam locomotives on it, headed south on Rt 1 at the Sheepscot bridge.  My coworker who lives in Edgecomb confirmed the sighting, they were headed south on Rt 27.  So they had to be headed to Boothbay Railway Villages.

I'm guessing that one of them is Monson 4, but what is the other?  I'm assuming they are going for boiler work.

My viewing was quite quick, so what I thought might be 2 engines may only be 1 engine.  Still, I thought I saw 2 boilers, stacks, and cabs.

I got confirmation from Jason, but don't feel at liberty to give any details.  It was two engines headed to BRV.

Come on, it's the two engines from the Eagle Lake & West Branch. They've finally been removed from their woodland hibernation.

They had to get them out before mud season. ;)

Thanks James. Atleast we know you weren't seeing things.
