You know you're a WW&F fan when you pay someone with an airbrush to custom paint a front license plate for your vehicle and the subject is #9 and the WW&F logo.

Duncan,
Make that a "Pennsylvania" WW&F fan, here in Maine we have to use the front license plates that the State of Maine sells us.

You know you're a WW&F fan when ...

 - You paint your well house box car red and want to paint 309 on the side of it.

Well, here's mine, albeit a more general 2' bit.

You know you're a Maine 2' steam nut (or junkie if you prefer) when...

You schedule your summer vacation week to run from the Saturday before the Narrow Gauge Convention (8/25) through the Sunday after (9/2). You work Wed, Thur, and Sat on steam, pay to be a guest engineer on Friday and still end up firing for half the day, then call in sick to work on Labor Day (I used to work in a pizza joint and still did after this) so that you can fire "just one more day."

Not to say it wasn't without sacrifice, I spent the Staurday through Tuesday (and Sunday before Labor Day) of that week deep in the woods of Maine so that my girlfriend wouldn't decide to become my ex-girlfriend.

Another one:

You know you're a 2' steam nut when:

You somehow manage to find yourself volunteering for 2 days of steam on a holiday weekend (any combo of Sat/Sun/Mon)...

...all THREE holiday weekends in the summer (Memorial, 4th of July, AND Labor Day!)...

...for 2 years in a row.

Keith, I'm actually from Massachusetts and at the time I had the plate made front plates were not required.  As long as I keep my current plate (green) I can keep my custom plate but if the plate ever requires updating (red now) I will be required to lose the custom plate and have 2 state plates.

You look at your mailbox every day, trying to finalize that design in your head to turn it into #9.

You haul an antique victrola 1200 miles (round trip) just to get a picture of it on the Alna Center station platform.

Do you mean B&SR No 7? Do you actually have No 7's whistle as the ringtone on your cell phone? Because I am in need of a recording of that whistle. Can you send it to me as a .wav file in an email?

(not sure how having B&SR No 7's whistle on your phone makes you a WW&F fan...but hey, we're just making it up as we go along, right?!)  ;D
