Sad photos. Look at the size of coal though. You must put that in by hand.

Keep in mind that every fireman had a hammer in addition to a shovel on the locomotive for just such occasions.

Go find some pictures of turn of the century British steam and check out the coal loads in those tenders. Boulders bigger than your head!

The "broad-gaugers" out in Colorado fire with coal the size of footballs from what I'm told, too.

"The Train" has been on a lot recently. Great movie. I like the tape though. They don't cut anything out on that.

Yes Bill. I knew they did, I was being sarcastic. Those large lumps would probably make some good clinkers.
