A unique thing about WW&F flatcars (and boxcars too) is the couplers.  The cut lever is on the bottom as the pin is bottom actuated instead of the normal top-drop pin.  The WW&F employed bottom pin couplers so that ice would not get into the coupler and freeze the knuckle.
