Surviving pieces of Maine Two Foot Gauge locomotives?

I'm new here, and I was really wondering if there are any surviving pieces of any of the SRRL engines? That way if the Sandy River Railroad Park can find any, they can build a replica that at least has some parts of the original.

Sandy River RR park has tenders from two locomotives on their property.  I'm unaware of any other surviving parts - all the locomotives (except SR&RL 6, which is our #9) were scrapped.  Of course random parts of pieces of scrappings survive, but as I said I'm unaware of other parts.

I heard the Brecon Mountain Railway in Wales is building replicas of #10 and #23... It would be great if we could do something like that in the US....

I don't know of any more off-site artifacts but here are a few that the SR&RL has in their collection.  There is a blacksmith shop set up next to the SR&RL roundhouse in Phillips.  The forge is made out of an inverted sand dome from a SR&RL locomotive.   It may be from the #18.  The boiler from either engine 1 or 2 (the original B&B locos) was recovered from a closed mill and is on display near the roundhouse.  There is a tender that was recovered when Wes Spear and others first cleared the old P&R grade North of Phillips in the 1970's.  A look at the SR&RL web site will tell you more;

I've heard from a reliable source that the number plates from one or more of the SR&RL Prairies were saved and rather recently.  After scrapping, some of the boilers were put into service in a laundromat and other places with the builders' plates and number plates left in place on the smokebox fronts.  At least one number plate was saved after the boilers were finally decommissioned.

Years ago before the old Phillips roundhouse burned, there was a wood turning operation going on there. We had a chance to go inside and I remember an operating boiler which was under steam. It looked a lot like one of the engine boilers to me.  Didn't Moody say that the #10 boiler was saved for such use?

I keep thinking back to the fact that the #24 was saved, and then ultimately scrapped. Oh to be able to turn back the clock and prevent that.  At least the parlor car "Rangeley" escaped that fate.
