Heres hopeing that the town fathers of Bridgton find that the railroad returning to town is worthy of their support and that Bridgton can do something like we are doing on the WW&FRR and the group over in Phillip's is doing on the SR&RLRR. Bring'em back alive I say!!!!!

It would be nice to have the town fathers do such a thing Paul but don't count on it too quickly.  Remember, the town fathers essentially chased the B&SR line out of town back in the early 40's when the railroad went under.  They couldn't wait to get the railroad out and the area cleaned up. All that was done despite suggestions having been made at that time about the potential tourist draw that the railroad's remains represented.
Oh well, let's all keep our fingers crossed that the Return of the Rails group can get, at the very least, a satellite version of the MNGM into Bridgton or the Bridgton area.  After all, there are two vintage cars now sitting out next to route 301 on a railbed and rails.

I hate to say it, but I have some reservations about what I read. I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling about a potential deal. Must be some information that was left out, or reported inaccurately.

Well I guess you guys are closer and know what's up. But I'm sure that the town fathers from back then are most likely dead and maybe the group presently in charge may more simathedic. then to there is a group working to this goal plus now MNGM is now looking to spin off some equitment. I don't know seem like the puzzal peaces have been throughen out there. Now heres hopeing Bill and his crew can push to make something out of them.

Yes, the townspeople now are looking into the historic value of having these pieces back. I talked to Bill over a year ago and he told me(actually us, it was one of our hiking trips) about his visions. They are great, and I will do all I can to help Bill with those dreams.

I am sure now it was just how the article was written. I would have liked to have seen added, "Present at the meeting representing MNGRR was".

And state why they are there. Were they invited? Or was this a scheduled meeting betwen the them? They left out some key info.
