« on: June 12, 2012, 06:31:01 PM »
Does anybody know any history of this little short green baggage car? I would like to know where its from and whats its story behind it? Here is a link to a photo http://www.flickr.com/photos/8392121@N02/5011646499/sizes/l/in/pool-821629@N21/

I believe I heard that was built in Edaville as a possible generator/maintenance car. #7's cab roof is on top of the car as well.

The car body is now off trucks and is connected to the MNG engine house, probably for use as a crew area.  If I recall what I was told, Edgar Meade built the car.  Or maybe he bought it when Edaville closed.

I had heard that the car was commissioned by Thorn Mead, Edgar's son, and built for him by professional woodworker from either NH or VT.  It was based upon the design of an early baggage car constructed for one of the SR&RL predecessor lines (F&M?).

As always, corrections or additional information would be appreciated.
