HIJACKED!!

My Hotmail e-mail address, K4s1361(at)hotmail(dot)com, was hijacked on Friday and is no longer under my control. If any of you receive messages from that address after Friday, immediately delete them as they are phishing expeditions. I am changing my profile to include a new and improved e-mail address, so if you need to reach me, send me a PM here and I'll reply.

I've heard from several different sources that Hotmail accounts are getting hijacked.  Users beware.

Gee Wayne, I didn't know your are in the UK and need a loan to pay your hotel bill.  Let me know your new email server.  I use Juno (18 years) and I don't believe anyone has hijacked Juno.  Not the best service, its cheap and the address book is isolated.

Just so everyone knows. I am not stranded in London. My Hotmail e-mail account was hijacked over the weekend and they are hoping to find someone gullible enough  to send money. So if you got one of those messages, delete it and trash it immediately. I'm right here in beautiful downtown Northumberland, P-A. If anyone wants to send money, send it to the WW&F. They can use it. I have enough, at least at the moment.

Hotmail isn't the only one being targeted. Last month, my aunt, who is a retired nun had the EXACT same thing happen to her...and she's on Yahoo. I recieved the same spoof email saying she was stranded in the UK and needed money!! 

I've already forwarded the spoof I received from "Wayne" to abuse@hotmail.com. Other should do the same...

Hi,

I was just reading this account of Wayne's hotmail account hijacking.  I wanted to share that a woman I know had her hotmail address hijacked also.  It was the comments about sending money to the UK that reminded me.  The email I received from that woman made the very same request.  Luckily, I decided to be a poor "buddy" and declined the request.

Actually, it took a while but I realized it couldn't be Wayne sending me that email, there were too many mistakes and it didn't end with "Cheers"

Really Gordon, you've got to make allowances for the stress of being overseas without your wallet.

Within mere minutes after the hijackers sent out their bogus appeal for funds, I received half a dozen phone calls and about 20 e-mails from folks concerned for my welfare. I appreciate all of it.

You'll be pleased to know that my son-in-law, who is a professional computer geek, and some of his friends, came up with a reply that contained some embedded code that should destroy (as in liquify) the hard drive of the computer now holding my Hotmail address. The instant they open the message, ZAP! I would have preferred a cruise missile myself.
