Rule Book Updated & Rule Reviews
« on: March 13, 2010, 08:13:57 PM »
After what seems like years of work, Jason, John M, and I have finished revising the rulebook.  The changes were approved by the Board Friday night.  The rulebook is undergoing final tweaks now.

This means everyone who is a qualified train crew person, or someone in training, needs to attend a rules review session.  I'm scheduling one for Saturday April 10 @ 9, and Saturday May 8 @ 9.  Other reviews will be available upon request (in fact I'm fully expecting to need to do something during the work weekend).  The rules will go into effect probably on Memorial weekend.

Just a reminder that the first review session is this upcoming Saturday, April 10,  @ 9 AM.  We now have a brand new rulebook with substantial changes in some parts, so it's very important to get in on one of these.

James,
If you could do a review on the spring work weekend, I would greatly appreciate it. Although not an operator (yet) I would like to learn the rules of the WW&F so that I am aware of operations as a safety measure while working out on the line or in the yard. One of those "it doesn't hurt to know, but it might hurt if you don't" things.  Thanks.

I think it pretty likely that there'll be a review during the work weekend, I just don't know when.

James: I'll second the request to do a rules review during spring work weekend. I realize a time might be difficult given the planned dinner followed by the social event. But hopefully a time will materialize.

By having the rules review at 3:30, I think James has craftily planned that the onset of hunger will speed the conclusion of the meeting. ;)

There will be a rules review session on Saturday the 24th (work weekend Saturday) @ 3 PM.

Where it will be is rather up in the air.  I'll have it the car shop extension if it isn't too busy; we may need to have it in a coach in the yard.
