I attended WW&F Life Member Henry Groth's September 2009 live steam meet at his home in Waldoboro. Henry is a conductor on the Maine Eastern psgr train, and sometimes opens up his railroad for kids on Wednesdays during the summer. It is about a quarter mile south on old Route 1 as it goes into Waldoboro. Many of our members attend Henry's meets.

Stephen, Russ Steves, the builder of Fitchburg Northern No. 5 is currently building a 7- 1/4" gauge model of the Sandy River No. 5 (a.k.a. WW&F No.9) using the same drawings that our shop crews are using for the restoration. Who knows, maybe someday a "small" No.9 will visit the large one!

Got to love the LIRR flat side in maine I got a kick out of that. But ex LIRR C-60 which is the class that hack is modeled after hit the road this year to the Transit Museum in Queens she looks just as good. Sorry it is not narrow gauge but worth it. She is owned by the Twin Forks Chapter of the NRHS from Long Island NY.
