Billerica & Bedford pictures

(1/1)

Stephen Hussar:
I had the chance to stop by the B&B the other day (evening, actually) and took a few pictures. Nice signage at the beginning of the restored section of track. With the leaves all over the ground covering the ties, if one didn't know any better they might think these rails have been here for 100 years. The rail pile is a sure sign we'll be seeing more track being put down on the B&B. It's GREAT that the town is so supportive of this effort.
A short distance away the Friends of Bedord Depot have cosmetically restored an old Boston & Maine RDC passenger-baggage car. The car is electrified, with markers and number boards lit, as well as having interior lights on. It was twilight and I couldn't help taking a couple of pictures, and giving the impression of movement in the process: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=305483&nseq=2

Glenn Christensen:
Hi Stephen,

Don't forget, the "new" visitors center building right next to the RDC is the old Billerica & Bedford engine house.

Best Regards,
Glenn

Dave Buczkowski:
Hi Steve and Glenn;
It's been about a year since Tom Dickey last led a track crew. I wasn't able to make it. Instead of driving 5 minutes from my house to help out I drove up for Albion Day. One problem we have is that usually only about 5 guys show up.
Jim Shea has done an excellent job of obtaining funds for the B&B, Freight House (nee B&B Engine house) and the Budd car. The renovations look great. The Budd car looks almost brand new.

Stewart "Start" Rhine:
Stephen,  Thanks for the photos.  The place looks great - guess I gotta get over there some day.

John McNamara:
Looks like they are starting with the same two-foot rolling stock that we did.
